On May 13th, Hellhole Supermarket Records will release the long-awaited sophomore LP Grow / Decompose from LA-by-way-of-Chicago based band Young Jesus.
In a preview of the new album, Impose writes, "For some this is a reaffirmation of the greatness of a band they've known and loved for years. For most this is a introduction: the most Midwestern band -- a compliment -- making music today is called Young Jesus, and they care about you."
The first single from the album, "G," premiered through Impose late last year, followed by "Dirt," which premiered late last month on Stereogum. Today Brooklyn Vegan premieres "Milo," along with the album's tracklisting.
Grow / Decompose is now available for pre-order -- via mp3 and limited edition cassette -- and will be available in full on May 13th through Hellhole Supermarket Records.
"Milo" Premieres on Brooklyn Vegan
"Propelled by the kind of anthemic melody that feels instantly
familiar without sounding like anything in particular."
- Brooklyn Vegan
"The kind of capacious vocal performance that stands apart without even trying."
"Dirt" Premieres on Stereogum
"All of their songs come across as deeply felt and anthemic,
but at eight minutes, "Dirt" is a full-on bleary-eyed epic."
