Chicago's genre-busting, celestially riotous Sexy Fights create sounds that seem equally beamed in from the past, the future, underground and from the skies. Retro disco sounds merge with psych-rock textures while soaring vocals meet futurist synthscapes, all evoking the classic and the modern in a body of work that subverts the fashionably vintage for a thrillingly propulsive new world style.

Noisey premiered the leading single and video late last year -- the band's first release since 2012's self-titled debut EP. "Bending Light" fits somewhere on the spectrum between the Knife, Tame Impala, and Black Moth Super Rainbow, with vibrant female vocals, warm electronics, and elevated beats: "A throbbing night-time cut that polished modern-day synth pop with an '80s sheen" (Consequence of Sound).

Glistening, synth-rock arrangements seemingly sourced from outer space mingle with clouds of smoky soul, making for something akin to a retro, intergalactic ballad.

[‘Bending Light’ takes] inspiration from the strong female narrative videos of the 80s, such as Pat Benatar’s ‘Love is a Battlefield,’ Til Tuesday’s ‘Voices Carry,’ and Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Time After Time.’
