This week on The FADER's 'GEN F: Artists To Know Now' column, we are introduced to Lontalius -- the seventeen-year-old New Zealand based singer-songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist, and producer Eddie Johnston.

At the moment, he is perhaps best known for his sleepy hip hop and r&b covers that he uploads to SoundCloud, but soon that may change. Lontalius recently guested on new albums from Tunji Ige and Ryan Hemsworth, and collaborations with Cyril Hahn and Spooky Black are on the way.

Hemsworth actually debuted Lontalius' first single while guest DJing on triple j's Mornings With Zan, calling the track, "the most fragile, emotional music." "Light Shines Through Dust" is the first single to be released from Lontalius' debut full-length, to be released in 2015. The record, Johnston says, is about "growing up, anxieties--teenager shit." The record will merge the melancholic production of his covers with more guitar-centric bedroom rock.
