If you haven’t become aquainted with Banoffee yet — the experimental / electronic / r&b project from schizoid-tomboy-dream-girl Martha Brown — now is the time.
Her debut video for “Ninja” premiered on Pigeons and Planes nearly a year ago today, and within 24 hours it had already earned many thousands of views, with Line of Best Fit’s new music editor tweeting, “Everyone stop what you’re doing — Banoffee’s ‘Ninja’ video has just won the week.” “Ninja” earned immense Track of the Day / Week features through AU, the UK, and the North America, leaving everyone anxiously anticipating her next move.
In December Banoffee released her second single and video through The FADER who described the track as “some of the year’s best new music” alongside Haim, Mø, and Wet, and now Banoffee is finally ready to release her highly anticipated debut EP through Two Bright Lakes (Oscar Key Sung, The Harpoons, Collarbones) and Remote Control Records in AU.
Premiering today via Clash Music is “Got It” — the third single to be unveiled.
“Matching cute, coy moments to unerring directness… The Australian artist is a cool, edgy pop phenomenon waiting to happen.”
