For Immediate Release: November 16, 2018

Ladada frontman Josiah Schlater has released an EP under a new moniker, today, called Baby Josy. As Baby Josy, Schlater's songwriting floats closer to Ladada's self-titled 2014 debut EP (which won praise from Consequence of Sound and Stereogum), but this new material is stripped down to just piano and soft percussion, and infused with 60's soul, as well as Josiah's radiating self-love and inner peace.

Josiah wrote EP opener "I Can Start To Feel" after waking up one morning with a feeling of redemption. He felt inspired to move on and to move forward, and to look beyond injuries he may have caused himself and others.

"I Can Start To Feel" connects almost seamlessly with "Magic in Your Love," which came to Josiah in a dream: "In the dream I was with a group of people in a kitchen singing the chorus to this song -- just the vocal walk-down. It made me realize there truly is magic in the morning, afternoon, and evening; whenever you give or receive love."

"Dream On (of Another Land)" was written about a girl Josiah had a crush on in 2012. "At that time I lived in an apartment right next to an inlet leading to the Chesapeake Bay. It was summer time, and a heavy ocean breeze started coming in through my window, and I couldn't help but be caught up in the emotion... and I wrote a song for her."

The last track, "Pizza Jungle Walk," is an ode to a walk Josiah would make through the woods in Richmond, VA to get to his favorite slice of pizza.
